We have Casework Advisors specializing in:

• Money Advice Casework, Funded by the Financial Inclusion Fund and by the Big Lottery.
• Money Advice Casework (for clients with mental health issues), Funded by Severn Trent Trust Fund.
• Casework for families with young children, Funded by Derbyshire County Council.
• Casework for cancer patients & their families & carers, Funded by Macmillan.

Specialist Money Advice

• A full exploration of the situation including the identification of any emergencies such as imminent legal proceedings....Through to:

• Identification with you of any relevant Social Policy issues which are then reported as evidence to the National Association, confidentiality being strictly maintained. This evidence is used locally and nationally to seek to influence change. (add on to this bullet) This is particularly important when positive solutions cannot be found.

Generalist Advice Overview

We offer Generalist Advice free of charge to the public.

• Generalist Advice is delivered by trained and competent volunteer advisers who are supported by paid staff.
• The General Advice helpline is 01283 210107.
• Generalist Advice is available by calling into the bureau.
• Every effort will be made to make the service as accessible as possible.
• When contacting us for advice please have all relevant documents and details with you so that we can carry out a thorough analysis of your problem and provide you with the best possible advice.

Advice will be given in a private and confidential manner.

• We will gather information from you and identify your problems.
• We will identify possible solutions and/or options which you can choose to pursue.
• We will explain the implications of choosing each solution/option that is available to you.
• We will support you in your chosen course of action.
